Landscape architect Elizabeth Byerly Francell has spent a lifetime painting with her specialty, the native plants of the high desert southwest. Pastel painting was a natural transition for the Fort Davis artist, especially after she and husband Larry set up a second homestead in Penderies, New Mexico.

Larry says the uninterrupted time in Northeastern New Mexico inspires his creative wife to set up her easel and paint.

The couple's Fort Davis house, rich in history, was Beth's grandparents'. The couple restored the Victorian house; Beth's cottage garden includes many of her grandmother's plants.

Feel free to contact the Ft Davis gallery to confirm the availability of any Beth Francell original painting shown here.

The local artist is sometimes able to meet collectors at OSTG to share insights about her art.
