Day's End original watercolor

The shadows lengthen and the light fades as the sun sets on this imaginary scene. This backlit piece was painted as a student demonstration to illustrate how to capture depth and atmospheric perspective in watercolor.

Though this scene exists only in my mind and heart, it could easily exist in a thousand places in Texas and the west. “Days End” pay tribute to those whose schedule is not decide by an alarm clock or I Phone schedule app, but, by the sun.
