RICARDO ROBLES

Wildlife and Nature
Round Rock, Texas

Ricardo Robles in his studio

I'm Ricardo Robles. Pleased to meet you here!

My first views of art were inspired by my parents, who were deeply involved in the arts. My mother is a crafter with a long resume of crafting and designing women’s clothes along with home decor. My father, a WWII vet, was a hobbyist cartoonist inspired by drawing Disney characters in a variety of WWII themes.

Born in the Northeast (New York City) but now living in Central TX, I gained a variety of influences from urban to hill country surroundings, sometimes meshed all together. Art to me is a unique and magical experience where I can create, not just a piece of art, but emotions and interpretations through the filter of my eyes.

My quest for knowledge is a growing thirst: I think I will be 80 + years old and still researching and improving my skills and understanding of the arts.

Learning is the only thing the mind never exhausts, never fears, and never regrets
-Leonardo da Vinci-

The self-taught artist has completed various workshops and courses in the fine arts and illustration fields and continues his insatiable quest for knowledge, inspiration and technique.

Honors include First Place the wildlife category of an American Pastel Society International Juried Show.

Judge Karen Margulis wrote:

Ricardo used hyperrealism with contrasting colors to really make it look like you can run your hands through the fur of the animal. The background compliments it by just showing a few lines her and there and it works in unison perfectly.
